The Princeton Club of Hampton Roads is incredibly fortunate to be able to host an evening cocktail reception, presentation and group discussion time with our fellow classmate, Mike Signer, of the incredible class of 1995, and current mayor of Charlottesville.

Mike will provide his first-hand account of the events leading up to, during and following the events of August 11th and 12th related to the far-right 'Unite the Right' rally, the subsequent violence, and the tragic deaths of Heather Heyer, Lt. H. Jay Cullen, and Trooper-Pilot Berke M. M. Bates.  In addition, Mike will share his story from the perspective of a part-time mayor of a 50,000 person city who is also general counsel for a technology company, an attorney for his own law practice, and a lecturer at UVA on seminars entitled, 'Leadership, Statesmanship, and Democracy' and 'Race and Policy.'  My own perspective, as a fellow '95 classmate, is that Mike's personal journey through these events, which pulled him into the national public eye and placed him directly opposite the new Trump administration, is one of absolute fascination and admiration for the strength of his moral compass.  More about Mike here.

We will begin with an open-bar and light hors d'oeuvre cocktail reception at 4pm. Mike will start his talk at 4:30, with Q&A lasting until around 5:30. We will end the reception at 6pm. Free valet parking will be provided.

Please note: as this event carries significant costs for the PCHR, we are pricing tickets accordingly to cover the related expenses to hold this event.  In the unfortunate event that we can not cover our costs and must cancel the event (or if it cancelled for other unforeseen reasons), we will refund the ticket fees, minus any lost deposits.  However, once tickets are sold, no refunds will be granted to club members or other invited guests, should they decide not to attend.

Thank you,

Michael Brazukas P'95
